Back pain: why you should see a chiropractor

Low back pain, neck pain, sciatica, back pain… consulting a chiropractor is a wise solution if you suffer from chronic back pain. Chiropractic emphasizes the body’s innate healing ability. Chiropractors undergo extensive training in the management of musculoskeletal disorders during their studies, which last between four and six years.

Chiropractors, in fact, follow extensive training on spinal alignment. Through this comprehensive training in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, multiple lines of evidence have shown that chiropractic treatment is far safer and often more effective than allopathic medical treatments, especially for back and neck pain.

Chiropractic adjustments affect your body on a deep cellular level. This means that chiropractic care can affect basic physiological processes that influence oxidative stress and DNA repair. In addition to treating any spinal misalignment that may be causing pain, they can also address deeper dysfunctions in your body.

For example, chiropractic has been shown to provide clinically significant improvement in function and symptoms for people with neck pain. the adjustments made by chiropractors are considered significantly more effective in reducing pain immediately, or in the short term, for people with neck or lower back pain, than no treatment, placebos, physical therapy, or usual care.

Chiropractic more effective than drugs in relieving back pain

According to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine and funded by the National Institute of Health, taking medication is not the best way to treat neck pain.

After following 272 patients with neck pain, the researchers found that people who were treated by a chiropractor or performed exercises were twice as likely to be relieved of their pain as those who took medication.

More precisely :

Psssssst :  Here is a 10-week progressive walking program to lose weight

32% of patients who had received chiropractic care no longer felt pain

30% of those who had exercised no longer felt pain

13% of those who had been treated with medication no longer felt pain

The researchers of this study conclude that: “For participants with acute and subacute neck pain, TMVC [thérapie de manipulation vertébrale cervicale] was more effective than drugs, both short-term and long-term. In addition, a few training sessions in specific exercises to be done at home also made it possible to obtain benefits in the relief of their symptoms”.
