The homeopathic strain of Rhododendron comes from the plant of the same name, also known as azalea. It is a plant belonging to the botanical family of Ericaceae. It is very present in mountainous regions such as the Pyrenees, the Alps, the Himalayas and the Carpathians. Also, it is possible to meet in greater quantity in Siberia and Lapland as well as in the forests of Burma and India.
In the case of the azalea used to prepare the homeopathic strain, it comes mainly from the northern part of Asia. This is the Rhododendron luteum, also known as the honeysuckle azalea or the yellow pontic azalea. Its fragrant flowers display a golden yellow color and its leaves are deciduous.
Other varieties of azalea, such as Rhododendron ponticum and Rhododendron ferrugineum, are also known to be toxic. Indeed, several past events relate the misadventures of people who consumed azalea honey. The main effects of this honey are hallucinations, temporary paralysis as well as digestive disorders such as nausea and diarrhea.
Why use this drug?
Rhododendron can treat disorders affecting the musculoskeletal system. It is particularly effective in treatment of rheumatic attacks. It acts, among other things, on muscle and fibrous tissue. Specifically, it alleviates pain that occurs as a result of tears in ligaments and tendons.
At the level of the peripheral nervous system, this homeopathic remedy is useful in the neuralgia treatmentand in particular those affecting:
- The teeth
- The face
- The thorax (intercostal spaces)
- Upper limbs
In patients with type Rhododendron, the modalities of aggravation are changes in weather and climate. Indeed, the symptoms tend to worsen with humidity and the slightest variation of static electricity in the air, that is to say, the hours preceding a thunderstorm or storm. Symptoms improve immediately after and also with dry heat and movement.
When and how to take it?
To treat the symptoms appearing during the stormy season, take in the morning and evening, 3 granules in 7 to 15 CH. Note that the choice of dilutions depends on the intensity of the symptoms.
Like all homeopathic remediesthe granules are taken outside of meals and foods of an exciting nature, namely tobacco, alcohol, mint or coffee.
For adults, it is recommended to let the granules or doses dissolve under the tongue. For children, dilution in a water base is possible.
Finally, in order to prevent possible undesirable effects, but above all to receive the appropriate treatment, it is advisable to consult a specialist in homeopathy before each treatment. Indeed, despite identical manifestations, the diagnosis can be different depending on the medical profile of each. This is also the case for the treatment to be taken as well as for the recommended dosages.
