Homeopathy has again suffered a severe blow. Indeed, this Monday, December 21, the Council of State rejected all the appeals filed by the Boiron and Rocal homeopathy laboratories (Lehning Group). These two laboratories had issued appeals against the decrees, orders and decisions that led to the reduction in the reimbursement of homeopathic medicines on January 1, 2020. The decrees will lead to the removal of all homeopathic medicines from the list of reimbursable specialties from January 1, 2021.
Appeals to the Council of State filed in October 2019
This final appeal to the Council of State had been filed on October 23, 2019. The homeopathic laboratories Boiron and Rocal had announced in a press release that they had filed two appeals with the Council of State. These appeals were against the decrees relating to the gradual cessation of reimbursement. They were motivated by flagrant irregularities which had tainted the evaluation procedure of homeopathy by the High Authority for Health (HAS).
