- Composition of peppermint
Peppermint leaf contains mainly menthol. Depending on the environmental and production conditions, it tends to change. It becomes menthone, methyl acetate, menthofuran. It also contains acid-phenols, flavonoids and terpenes.
- Soothe with a peppermint compress
The remedy requires an amount of leaves equivalent to 3 sachets of herbal tea. We put them in a container and pour 1 liter of boiling water into it. Cover the container to infuse the leaves for 5 minutes. Remove the leaves and add a cup of ice cubes. Once the mixture has cooled, a compress is soaked in it and then applied to the forehead.

The essential oil is naturally contained in the peppermint leaf. It is extracted by distillation. About 100 kg of leaves provide 1 kg of oil. To relieve a headache, the temple is anointed with pure peppermint essential oil.
