It’s all in the dose

But that’s not all, each spice has its “little extra something”: saffron is known to reduce tension due to stress, cardamom is beneficial for the digestive system, cinnamon acts as an antibiotic on the urinary tract , cloves are antiseptic and so on. So many good reasons to get started!

However, it is important to know how to dose reasonably so as not to obtain the opposite effect: at high doses, it is in particular cloves, nutmeg, paprika, chilli and saffron that can become harmful. Spices, yes, but with a light touch!

Spices can spice up most dishes, and are ideal for those on a salt-free diet. For example, you can add a teaspoon of turmeric to the rice cooking water. On the sweet side, do not hesitate to add a little cinnamon, ginger or cardamom in your milk or in your cakes.
