A session applying the Feldenkrais method can be done alone or in a group.

Individual lessons start with an anamnesis. This is a functional integration session. The therapist understands the patient’s needs. He then observes a set of elements to guide his practice. These are the visible elements like gestures, audible like the voice and tangible like muscle tone.

During the session, the therapist guides the patient’s movements by voice or touch. These are guided explorations. To act on the muscles, skin and skeleton, it uses touch. He then proposes a set of movements for the improvement of the relations between the different parts of the body. The patient lies on his stomach, back or side most of the time. However, various positions exist and they vary according to the sessions and according to the problems of the patients. There may or may not be a dialogue about the feeling between the therapist and the patient. The latter can simply focus on fine awareness and the realization of movements.

Bring the patient to observe the existing contrasts according to the way of carrying out the same movement. This is the purpose of the session.
